COLD SPRINGS SCHOOL UPDATE
Missoula County Public Schools has temporarily closed the west wing of Cold Springs School following a structural engineer's recommendation on Friday, November 7. The closure comes after routine inspections revealed signs of potential roof collapse due to failing girder trusses.
MCPS is actively collaborating with United Way and Missoula Child Care Advantage to identify temporary alternative locations. The search includes exploring space in other district facilities as well as community- based locations that could accommodate these essential services.
About Cold Springs School
Cold Springs School is located at 2625 Briggs Street in Missoula, Montana. It was formerly an elementary school that enrolled 502 students in PK through 5th. Cold Springs has been long sought out as a prime location for child care. The pilot phase of MCCA takes place in the southwest wing of the building and occupies six classrooms that have been newly remodeled.
